Jazz, blues, folk, fusion, pop, rock, Indie, Alt, and electronic. Mostly, the band's music, poetry, and art are intensely, inextricably human. It's about the human condition: heartbreak and longing, joy and celebration, inspiration and wonderment -- in short, the things, the thoughts, the emotions, the mysteries, that make us all human -- and ultimately more alike than different.
The band merges human expression and instruments with electronic and sythesized elements, allowing, for instance, an electric piano riff to metamorphose into a guitar lead, or a simple chord progression to emerge as a symphonic performance, using conventional audio manipulation software. But the instruments take a back seat to the moving, complex, and often astonishing, vocal performances that elevate seemingly simple melodies. In the end, the songs are about the things that make us alike, no matter our differences. Yes, many are love songs, or songs about heartbreak, because it is our destiny, after all, to strive endlessly, through all life's challenges and turmoils, to love and be loved. |
